Protect the Constitution

We do not live under the laws of a religion. Other countries may but not the United States. Here in the United States of America the laws are by man not GODS law. In most Islamic countries they follow the Quran and Sharia law. Religious leaders interpret it (and it varies by personal views) just as some of the religious people in the US do. Are the Buddhists or Hindu religions the correct ones? Maybe only the LDS (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) since it is an American religion. This is not a country ruled by religion but the people. If this was GODS law then people from anywhere in the world could come here and live as they please. Now where in GODS law does it say you live in your country and we live in ours and you can’t come to mine? If it was up to most religious leaders there would not be a second amendment.

Keep this on a simple ground. Your rights as an American come from the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the state you reside. Each state is like a separate county as in Europe. The US Constitution binds all states together into the nation. A state has the right to strengthen a law but not weaken it. As such each state issues a drivers License but only if you pass the required exam for the state. Each basically has similar driving laws but most states do have differences. In one state you can get a license at 16 and another it may be 17. The state decides not the federal Gov. Please show me you have the god given right to drive without a license from the state. Even in the Bible it does say “Give therefore to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Once we make laws based upon a religious doctrine we are no better than those forcing a religious belief upon others. This is what Sharia law does. “I never will, by any word or act, bow to the shrine of intolerance or admit a right of inquiry into the religious opinions of others.” Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

It is true the Constitution limits what the government can and cannot do. There are basic human rights that should be for every person. There are many governments of the countries tend to remove many of these rights to control the people. What we call human rights come from the society in which the people reside. At one time it was perfectly acceptable to own another person. What were their rights? The society of the populace decides what is right. To pose a question for thought; why is it considered wrong for a person to walk around naked in public? Is it what society decides as proper? It is not in the constitution. In some countries people can go naked on the beach areas and nothing is thought of it. It is legal in many state for women to go topless. Why is it ok for men to go topless but not women? Males have nipples and aureoles and some men do have larger breasts then some women. Just something to think about.

Mr. Thomas Jefferson had some thoughts that I would like to share and ask reader to think about their meanings:

“Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add “within the limits of the law,” because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.”

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. “

And my favorite:

“A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.”

I am only one person and there is nothing one person can do?

This is a problem in our nation. If we sit by and allow our elected representatives, Federal, State and local, to think they do not have to listen to the people they represent they are sadly wrong. We the people need to stand up and make our voices heard. A simple FREE email can help. Keep aware of upcoming local, state and federal issues and decide for yourself if you approve or disapprove. Send an email to the Senators and Representatives both the federal and state. Keep aware of local County and city issues and see where your rights to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness are being taken away. Do you know the city, county state or federal government can take your property if they feel there is a need that suits the general good? Stand up and be heard. Keep abreast of current pending State and Federal legislation as well as city/county ordinances. Only you know what is important to you.

Keep struggling for survival, to never give up even against the dire most of circumstances.

We must not forget

To put my mindset into perspective a very short personal background on myself. I joined the military 20 days after my 18th birthday in 1973. I served up until my retirement on May 2013. During these times I served in Germany, Turkey, Kosovo, Romania, Kuwait and Afghanistan. I have witnessed many half truths told to the American people from our government. While I was an active member of the military I was prohibited from voicing my opinion on the actions of our elected officials or the DOD.

I feel that it is the obligation that our government and the people we elect to represent us, “We the People of the United States of America”, deserve honesty, ethical behavior in words as well as actions and to keep their word they swore to upon taking the oath of their respective office.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

I personally feel that many in office have forgotten their oath to the people of this great nation. This nation was founded because of the tyranny of a government that did not respect the people. Please consider the following: From the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, …Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

In every stage of these Oppressions We have petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.”

And this from the “Bill of Rights
“Congress of the United States begun and held at the City of New-York, on Wednesday the fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.”

There comes a time when the Government becomes autocrats and forgets that they are servants of the people not rulers of the nation. When they believe that the people are not smart enough to understand what is going on, they elevate themselves to rulers not representatives of the people.

Members of congress say that the issues of the government are too complicated for most Americans to understand. They think the American people are too stupid to see that it is Congress that is muddying up the waters to hide facts and figures from the people they represent and are supposed to be working for. The complexity of government has developed over years of deliberate subterfuge to keep the people like mushrooms, (Kept in the dark and fed manure). The federal government has developed the system to keep the people looking at the smoke and mirrors and not look at the men/women behind the curtain. They put out bits and pieces to the American people but never the whole truth.

Of course there are no absolutes in national issues. There has to be a middle ground between the far left and the far right. The GOP and Tea party movement and the DNC can’t agree on the time let alone running of the Nation. At least the Whig party does not tell members how to think. We have pro-life and Pro-choice members and agree to have our own thoughts and ideas. Now “Morally good” is what and by who’s standards? Is it a Christian good, Buddhists, Islamic or Wiccan? Socialists see the nation by their “good” as well as extreme conservatives see their views as right.
There has to be a time and place where the middle can meet and see it is not one side or the other. One side will be controlling and pressuring the minority to compromise or lose. Look at what the U.S. Senate did with the rules on filibusters for appointees. They bulldozed the minority and will do it again. When the parties are so polarized it is the people of this country that suffer, not the politicians. Both the DNC and the GOP, because they are the two big boys on the block, don’t care about the middle. But it will take a group, like the Whig Party, that can see that there is always a middle ground that will be in the nation’s best interest.

The Whig party can be that middle ground for the nation. There has to be a departure from the status quo. The GOP and DNC think they are the only parties that count. It takes the people standing up and saying “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” It is the United States of America and we the people count.
