Look at both party’s fighting and the mistrust most people have with the leadership of both parties. Do they support you or tell you how to think?

It should not be about parties but honesty. It is without question any person wanting to register to vote should have to prove they are an American Citizen first and that they are eligible to vote. This is about ethical non-partisan politics. There should never any party registration but as an American each person votes for the person not the party.  It is truly not the party one should vote for the person we feel is the best person for the job. If a party wants to have a primary it should pay for it. Please show me where in the U.S. Constitution there is anything about political parties and primaries. There is not.  The Constitution says nothing about political parties. There is no mention of the two parties ( democrat and republican) system we all know or any requirement for any party affiliation.

We do not live under the laws of a religion. Other countries may but not the United States. Here in the United States of America the laws are by man not GODS law. In most Islamic countries they follow the Quran and Sharia law. Religious leaders interpret it (and it varies by personal views) just as some of the religious people in the US do. Are the Buddhists or Hindu religions the correct ones? Maybe only the LDS (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) since it is an American religion. This is not a country ruled by religion but the people. If this was GODS law then people from anywhere in the world could come here and live as they please. Now where in GODS law does it say you live in your country and we live in ours and you can’t come to mine? If it was up to most religious leaders there would not be a second amendment.

Keep this on a simple ground. Your rights as an American come from the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the state you reside. Each state is like a separate county as in Europe. The US Constitution binds all states together into the nation. A state has the right to strengthen a law but not weaken it. As such each state issues a drivers License but only if you pass the required exam for the state. Each basically has similar driving laws but most states do have differences. In one state you can get a license at 16 and another it may be 17. The state decides not the federal Gov. Please show me you have the god given right to drive without a license from the state. Even in the Bible it does say “Give therefore to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Once we make laws based upon a religious doctrine we are no better than those forcing a religious belief upon others. This is what Sharia law does. “I never will, by any word or act, bow to the shrine of intolerance or admit a right of inquiry into the religious opinions of others.” Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

It is true the Constitution limits what the government can and cannot do. There are basic human rights that should be for every person. There are many governments of the countries tend to remove many of these rights to control the people. What we call human rights come from the society in which the people reside. At one time it was perfectly acceptable to own another person. What were their rights? The society of the populace decides what is right. To pose a question for thought; why is it considered wrong for a person to walk around naked in public? Is it what society decides as proper? It is not in the constitution. In some countries people can go naked on the beach areas and nothing is thought of it. It is legal in many state for women to go topless. Why is it ok for men to go topless but not women? Males have nipples and aureoles and some men do have larger breasts then some women. Just something to think about.

Mr. Thomas Jefferson had some thoughts that I would like to share and ask reader to think about their meanings:

“Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add “within the limits of the law,” because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual.”

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. “

And my favorite:

“A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.”

I am only one person and there is nothing one person can do?

This is a problem in our nation. If we sit by and allow our elected representatives, Federal, State and local, to think they do not have to listen to the people they represent they are sadly wrong. We the people need to stand up and make our voices heard. A simple FREE email can help. Keep aware of upcoming local, state and federal issues and decide for yourself if you approve or disapprove. Send an email to the Senators and Representatives both the federal and state. Keep aware of local County and city issues and see where your rights to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness are being taken away. Do you know the city, county state or federal government can take your property if they feel there is a need that suits the general good? Stand up and be heard. Keep abreast of current pending State and Federal legislation as well as city/county ordinances. Only you know what is important to you.

We must not forget

To put my mindset into perspective a very short personal background on myself. I joined the military 20 days after my 18th birthday in 1973. I served up until my retirement on May 2013. During these times I served in Germany, Turkey, Kosovo, Romania, Kuwait and Afghanistan. I have witnessed many half truths told to the American people from our government. While I was an active member of the military I was prohibited from voicing my opinion on the actions of our elected officials or the DOD.

I feel that it is the obligation that our government and the people we elect to represent us, “We the People of the United States of America”, deserve honesty, ethical behavior in words as well as actions and to keep their word they swore to upon taking the oath of their respective office.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

I personally feel that many in office have forgotten their oath to the people of this great nation. This nation was founded because of the tyranny of a government that did not respect the people. Please consider the following: From the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, …Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

There comes a time when the Government becomes autocrats and forgets that they are servants of the people not rulers of the nation. When they believe that the people are not smart enough to understand what is going on, they elevate themselves to rulers not representatives of the people.

Members of congress say that the issues of the government are too complicated for most Americans to understand. They think the American people are too stupid to see that it is Congress that is muddying up the waters to hide facts and figures from the people they represent and are supposed to be working for. The complexity of government has developed over years of deliberate subterfuge to keep the people like mushrooms, (Kept in the dark and fed manure). The federal government has developed the system to keep the people looking at the smoke and mirrors and not look at the men/women behind the curtain. They put out bits and pieces to the American people but never the whole truth.

Of course there are no absolutes in national issues. There has to be a middle ground between the far left and the far right. The GOP and Tea party movement and the DNC can’t agree on the time let alone running of the Nation. At least the Whig party does not tell members how to think. We have pro-life and Pro-choice members and agree to have our own thoughts and ideas. Now “Morally good” is what and by who’s standards? Is it a Christian good, Buddhists, Islamic or Wiccan? Socialists see the nation by their “good” as well as extreme conservatives see their views as right.
There has to be a time and place where the middle can meet and see it is not one side or the other. One side will be controlling and pressuring the minority to compromise or lose. Look at what the U.S. Senate did with the rules on filibusters for appointees. They bulldozed the minority and will do it again. When the parties are so polarized it is the people of this country that suffer, not the politicians. Both the DNC and the GOP, because they are the two big boys on the block, don’t care about the middle. But it will take a group, like the Whig Party, that can see that there is always a middle ground that will be in the nation’s best interest.

The Whig party can be that middle ground for the nation. There has to be a departure from the status quo. The GOP and DNC think they are the only parties that count. It takes the people standing up and saying “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” It is the United States of America and we the people count.

America does not hate any religious beliefs.

WPGA saying30Most normal American’s do not despise any person because of any religious belief. We do detest any group that uses violence to force their religion on others. Each person can decide for themselves what they believe in or not. Americans have labeled many groups that use their beliefs for the use of violence. Some of these groups are the Klu Klux Klan, Neo-Nazi and White supremacy groups, Phineas Priesthood, Jewish Defense League, Army of God and many more. Notice most are using some religious pretext as a reason to use violent behavior upon others as their right from their beliefs.

What we do despise is any group using violence to force their belief on others. Americans did not start out really with an open mind as many believe. The Pilgrims’ came to the Americas to have their religious freedoms but was not tolerant of any other beliefs.
Governor Peter Stuyvesant banned the rights of Quakers to assemble and worship in 1657. Then on 27 December 1657, thirty townspeople of Flushing NY, signed the Flushing Remonstrance protesting this ban in the fight for religious freedom in colonial America.

Now in this new America, pre Constitution, were religious freedoms the norm? No, there were instances where Catholics and Jews were killed for their beliefs. They were forbidden to live in many communities. Most communities and states attempted to enforce strict religious observance. Laws mandated that everyone attend a house of worship and pay taxes that funded the salaries of ministers. Eight of the thirteen British colonies had official, or “established,” churches, and in those colonies dissenters who sought to practice or proselytize a different version of Christianity or a non-Christian faith were sometimes persecuted. Virginia imposed laws obliging all to attend Anglican public worship. Indeed, to any eighteenth century observer, the “legal and social dominance of the Church of England was unmistakable.”After 1750, as Baptist ranks swelled in that colony, the colonial Anglican elite responded to their presence with force. Baptist preachers were frequently arrested. Mobs physically attacked members of the sect, breaking up prayer meetings and sometimes beating participants.

So the norm in many States and communities was not for liberty and freedom but control and forced behavior. The “Bill of Rights” in order to prevent misconception or abuse of its powers had to limit the government from becoming an oppressor and autocracy over the people. The very first Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

American’s evolved to become accepting of others and their beliefs as long as it was not forced on them. Most normal American’s do not hate any religious belief. Americans do hate radical groups that decide that their rights supersede the rights of others. No group has the inherent right to force another to believe any religious concept or allegiance.

Americans do need to learn what any religion is about before jumping to conclusions and take the false perceptions being promoted by mass media. Fanatic extremists are not the true representation for any religious group but they do get the media attention and a misleading branding. Education of the world will open the eyes of non followers, followers as well as the ignorant.

The suggestion on illegal alien reform with a path to citizenship.

With the understanding that the U.S. will not deport all 11 million illegals, I put forward a program that takes a lot of the program from the Mexican laws on Immigration. When we say Illegals is it assumed we refer to only Hispanic persons? Any person who is in the United States of America illegally, not one group but ALL persons who violate the law. They are not “undocumented immigrants” or “unauthorized” aliens, they are illegal aliens! They are breaking the law under the U.S. Code Title 8, section 1325; Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, “Improper Entry by Alien,”

Many people make their first act here committing a crime against our society by entering illegally, then committing fraud and identity theft to work. Many also evade taxes. Many do not respect the laws of the United States of America and do not value any state or local law. Illegals do not show consideration for our laws and should not be given any special determination.

On Immigration we should not reward any person that was breaking the law by giving them blanket amnesty, citizenship or legal status without proper application of the laws of The United States of America. Why should the U. S. A. give any person, who violates our laws and disregards the legal process, amnesty? Illegals do not respect our laws and should not be given any special consideration.

Suggested program for current illegal alien immigration 

Upon entering The United States of America, immigrants must prove who they are, that they are mentally fit, and that they can contribute to American society. Abide by the current immigration laws of the U.S. Any person now illegally present in the U.S. must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. They must request through legal process to remain in the U.S., by submitting the proper procedure of proving their identity (must show a certified birth certificate through the consulate of their origin), criminal background checks from their home country as well as in the United States of America. They must enhance the country’s “economic or national interests” provide a bank statement proving economic independence, and must be physically and mentally able to show they can support themselves without any government support. They must pay the fees required under the laws of the United States of America.  Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Illegals may be deported out of the country immediately as due process and no endless bites at the litigation apple. If a person is here illegally there are no mitigating circumstances if entry into the country was through fraud or without proper entry procedures. An illegal immigrant who forges his documents, or falsifies them by lying when he fills them out, will face fines, jail, deportation, or a combination of the three. If after 3-5 years of legal status with no legal infractions can apply under the immigration laws of the nation. Section 312 of the Immigration and Nationality Act

Current law requires that naturalization applicants must demonstrate an ability to read, write, and speak words in ordinary usage in the English language, and have a knowledge and understanding of U.S. history and government (civics). To meet the requirements of Section 312 of the INA, applicants must pass a naturalization test to become naturalized citizens. The naturalization test consists of two components – English and a civics component.

Law-enforcement officials at all levels — by national mandate — must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal-alien arrests and deportations.

Current immigrant program for agricultural workers:

The current H2-A program lets farmers bring in an UNLIMITED number of legal agricultural guest workers. Under the H-2A temporary agricultural worker visas:

  • If you are a temporary agricultural worker, you must receive a written description of the terms of your employment no later than the first day of work. This document must contain detailed information about the benefits, wages, housing, work duration, and transportation benefits that your employer will provide. • You are entitled to payment at or above a wage that is set by the government. This rate applies whether you are paid hourly or by piece rate. •You do not have to pay either U.S. social security taxes or fees to a labor recruiter in your home country. • Your employer must provide clean and safe housing at no charge. •Your employer must reimburse you for transportation costs from your country to your place of employment, but only after you complete half the contract period; and your employer must pay for your return transportation costs for your trip home after completion of the contract. • You are entitled to guaranteed work for at least 3/4 of the number of workdays stated as the contract period unless you are displaced by a U.S. worker during the first half of the contract period.

Is a New mindset needed in Politics? Think Whig

As a whole we as Whigs have developed the mindset going back to the foundations of our nation. The founding Whigs had a plan to strengthen and unify the nation; the American System was advanced by the Whig Party and a number of leading politicians including Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun and John Quincy Adams. The System that included:

  • Support for a high tariff to protect American industries and generate revenue for the federal government. The establishment of a protective tariff, a 20%-25% tax on imported goods, would protect a nation’s business from foreign competition.
  • Development of a system of internal improvements which would knit the nation together and be financed by the tariff and land sales revenues.

The big selling point today is that the Whig party is the Un-Party, in that loyalty is not to the party but the people. Our strength is because of our acceptance of the differences. Whig Party members understand that we can agree many issues, accept the differences and develop a consensus for the good of the nation.

Whigs do not owe allegiance to any party politics but to the people of the nation. When an elected official or civil servant owes their loyalty to a political party instead of the people they represent, they are forgetting the basics of our government. We should be a “government of the people, by the people and for the people”.

Many may think because we don’t agree 100% on every issue we are undecided. That is because they cannot see that the status quo is not working and driving the country apart. It will take time to show how Whigs focus on joining in the middle or the centrist mindset of the people instead of worrying about the party platform.

A U.S. Central Command spokesman said the military is reviewing how to spend the $1.6 billion” Wow they do not know how to spend 1.6B. When the military is cutting enlisted ranks because of money. How about using this for out troops and equipping the US Army. How strange it is that the top can spend when of a lack of funding for troops. Giving Flag officers over $200,000 a year retirements when enlisted have to find second jobs after retirement just to pay the bills, Forcing out men and women due to funding cuts then giving billions to Iraq. When the Government is cutting VA funding we give Billions to Iraq and Afghanistan, When does the stupidly end? Where is the common sense to support the people of America before supporting the world? Why pay billions for Illegal aliens when we have people here wanting to work and many homeless. Why not have programs like the WPA back in the 1930 and get America building and developing the abilities we once had?

Instead of giving welfare develop work programs and pay for a days’ work. Build American infrastructure. Repair the bridges and roads; develop training programs for the out of work. Not a hand out but earning a living. Building pride in America first and foremost.

The Works Progress Administration (renamed in 1939 as the Work Projects Administration; WPA) was the largest and most ambitious American New Deal agency, employing millions of unemployed people (mostly unskilled men) to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads.
Almost every community in the United States had a new park, bridge or school constructed by the agency. The WPA’s initial appropriation in 1935 was for $4.9 billion (about 6.7 percent of the 1935 GDP), and in total it spent $13.4 billion.

At its peak in 1938, it provided paid jobs for three million unemployed men and women, as well as youth in a separate division, the National Youth Administration. Headed by Harry Hopkins, the WPA provided jobs and income to the unemployed during the Great Depression in the United States. Between 1935 and 1943, the WPA provided almost eight million jobs.[3] Full employment, which was reached in 1942 and emerged as a long-term national goal around 1944, was not the WPA goal. It tried to provide one paid job for all families in which the breadwinner suffered long-term unemployment.[4] Robert D. Leighninger asserts that “The stated goal of public building programs was to end the depression or, at least, alleviate its worst effects. Millions of people needed subsistence incomes. Work relief was preferred over public assistance (the dole) because it maintained self-respect, reinforced the work ethic, and kept skills sharp.”

The WPA was a national program that operated its own projects in cooperation with state and local governments, which provided 10–30% of the costs. Usually the local sponsor provided land and often trucks and supplies, with the WPA responsible for wages (and for the salaries of supervisors, who were not on relief). WPA sometimes took over state and local relief programs that had originated in the Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RFC) or Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) programs.

It was liquidated on June 30, 1943, as a result of low unemployment due to the worker shortage of World War II. The WPA had provided millions of Americans with jobs for 8 years. Most people who needed a job were eligible for at least some of its positions. Hourly wages were typically set to the prevailing wages in each area.

With a bit of modernization and modification we could develop something similar to bring America back to being the industrial and technological giant we once were. Remember if you give a person a fish they can eat for a day. When you teach them how to fish they can eat every day. Buy American, Build America.

Are some Political Parties acting like Cults?

Many voters are becoming disenfranchised with the major political parties. The overwhelming crush of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is one sign of the peoples mistrust with the status quo. There are still many that blindly follow the two parties and refuse to open their eyes and see that many of the elected officials are not representing the people they are sworn to act on behalf of. It is almost like cult followers blindly following who they are told to. It has been said that the way of a cult is one of blurred vision and mistaken choice and the foolishness of following wrong leads or trying wrong paths has to be paid for. And America is paying for it today.

The cultist takes pleasure in complicating simple truths or in concealing important ones. Much like the laws written by our politician’s don’t you think?  Educated people have been suspicious of cult societies in the past and they have had reason to be. I’m just wondering when educated people will become suspicious of parties.

How much farther can foolishness go towards insanity when career politicians openly admit they don’t take the time to read all the bills and yet are able to sustain the support of millions? I’ve never been able to understand how anyone could blindly follow cult leaders like Jim Jones, David Koresh, etc. But the faithful following of the two major parties brings one to the realization that the power of suggestion is not properly acknowledged.

The only successes the two major parties can lay claim to are bankrupting our nation, dividing us as a people and creating a propaganda machine which has developed an cult like following that is to blind to see their mismanagement of our nation. There will be a time when the people will open their eyes and minds and see that the career politician is harming this nation. By saying that the running of the government is too complicated for the people to understand is nothing but smoke and mirrors to cloud the facts. When the government becomes so massive that it cannot control its excessive spending and uncontrolled abuse by its leaders, the people of the nation suffer. We cannot depend on any government with self-serving career politicians to be open and honest with the people they are representing.

When was the last time your elected official at any level publicly put out any issues before they voted on them? When did they solicit your views and publish the opinion of the people they represent? With today’s electronic access to social media and the ability to poll the people securely, have any of your officials do so? It is a simple task for any elected official to have their constituents register for access to their polls and offer their opinion. Then see if they truly follow what our founding fathers envisioned for the elected. Truly the government has become such an all controlling invasive tyrant that the freedoms protected under the Constitution are disappearing. When the simple becomes so convoluted and distorted that even most educated people are overwhelmed the Constitution becomes but a suggestion. Our elected officials disregard the laws and rules and do not fear retribution for their indiscretions. Many feel they are above the laws of the common people.

Remember that a Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth, but when the people become nothing more than the batteries for the matrix, they will be nothing more than the serf to the overlords and ruling party.
